Description:

Harrows was interested in the concept of loose fit structures that allow spaces to be modified as companies adapt the way they operate over time. We set out to provide a beautiful, functional and flexible system to divide space that could be repurposed not discarded.

Link Display System was born out of a desire to make a beautiful and agile display and storage solution, with the flexibility to adapt and evolve with its environment. A practical and multifunctional design that allows fluidity for changing circumstances of every day use. And while doing all this it radiates the beauty of solid timber that brings life and warmth.

Link was developed buy the Harrows Design Team over two years through an in-depth R&D program with all manufacture and prototyping performed in-house or by NZ manufacturers. Designed around offset vertical poles and connected by horizontal steel struts it is based on 3 standard heights and 4 standard lengths, that can be endlessly built upon. Configure the system with shelves, cabinets, planters, whiteboards, or acoustic panels.

Link is a beautiful and multi-functional shelving system for spatial management. It can be employed as a bookcase, a spatial divider, or a display system with or without storage.
Link allows for the delineation of space within interior environments without the need for walls. Against the wall, around corners or freestanding, the design is highly customisable for any space.

The real innovation and beauty of Link comes from its adaptability – its placement, function and configuration are all changeable.

At any stage, shelving and plant holders can be rearranged, flipping the shelves to face the opposite side, allowing it to adapt and evolve to a changing workplace well after installation. Any horizontal strut can be swapped with a plant holder, giving the potential to create an entire biophilic wall in an instant. Optional pins allow whiteboards and acoustic panels to be hung. These panels act as screens to create privacy, control sound, and create agile work zones.
Link was designed to be circular and sustainable. Its ability to be infinitely reimagined and repurposed makes it a truly ‘forever’ solution.

It has a sense of permanence thanks to the enduring solid timber, yet its modular construction allows for kitset freight, reducing freight volumes, and is blanket wrapped so has no additional packaging.

Manufactured from solid timber and steel, the components are individually recyclable, with little wastage created during the manufacture process. The solid timber poles and shelves are manufactured in New Zealand from American Ash with FSC® certification, and available stained in any colour. Timber offcuts created during manufacturing are donated to a local community group to support fundraising, and ash saw dust is captured and repurposed in conjunction with local primary producers to create garden products. The steel struts and diecast fittings are also manufactured locally with all components manufactured or sourced in New Zealand, with longevity in mind.
